Exenai was founded in 2023 by the team behind Invenias, the executive search platform acquired by Bullhorn. We build for recruitment firms on Bullhorn and Invenias, and we build products that people love.
Our story
Rich Harrison cofounded Invenias in 2005, and Alex Lea led its engineering. Invenias became a leading platform for executive search and was acquired by Bullhorn in 2018. Rich stayed on as SVP Product and General Manager, and Alex led engineering through the integration.
From inside Bullhorn we kept seeing the same thing. Firms had a strong system of record, but much of the work around it, the integrations, the processes and the experience of the people applying, was still done by hand or not done at all.
So in 2023 we founded Exenai to do that work for them, and we've been building around the system of record ever since.
We set out to build products that people love, not products they put up with.

What we believe
The firms that win the next decade won't be the ones adopting AI fastest, but the ones who can govern it, measure it and prove what it did. Adoption is everywhere. Value isn't.
Candidates deserve a consumer-grade digital experience. The industry has spent twenty years improving the tools consultants use and almost none improving what it feels like to be the person applying.
One rule has held since the first line of code: your data never leaves your system of record.
Customers stay with us because we build products they love and look after them well, not because a contract says they have to. That's why we don't lock anyone into long-term contracts.

Today we work only with Bullhorn and Invenias. That focus means everything we build goes deep, and every connection writes back to your system of record.

Exenai is led by the people who built Invenias, with a team of engineers and solutions consultants who build and run what our customers use.

An entrepreneur with 32 years in recruitment and recruitment technology, across agency recruitment, executive search, the software those firms run on and the businesses that back them. Rich cofounded Invenias and, after its acquisition, was SVP Product and General Manager at Bullhorn.
